Hi. I’m Daniel. I run the marketing so you don’t have to.

Service Marketing Co. is a one-person marketing operation built to serve a small number of HVAC and plumbing businesses really well. No junior account managers. No offshore writers. No 40-page reports you have to decipher. Just Daniel — handling your marketing personally, every month.

A bit about me

I’m originally from Australia and now based in Long Beach, California, with my wife Lauren. I’ve spent the better part of my career in marketing — and the last several years focused specifically on HVAC and home service businesses.

What I found, working with businesses in this industry, is that most HVAC owners aren’t looking for an agency. They’re looking for someone they can trust to take care of their marketing and not make it complicated. Someone who shows up consistently, tells them the truth, and doesn’t disappear after the first invoice.

That’s the business I built. And it’s the reason I keep it small on purpose.

Why I focus on HVAC and plumbing

I specialise in this industry because it rewards the kind of marketing I’m good at: patient, consistent, community-focused work that builds trust over time.

HVAC businesses live and die by local reputation, repeat customers, and seasonal timing. The marketing that works here isn’t flashy — it’s reliable. A well-managed Google Business Profile. Email campaigns that go out every fortnight without the owner touching them. Blog content that keeps showing up in local search results. A referral system that actually gets used.

I’ve worked in this industry long enough to understand the seasonality, the language, the customer psychology, and the competitive landscape in local markets. That knowledge compounds over time. The longer I work with a client, the better the marketing gets.

How I work

When you come on as a client, the first two months are about getting your foundation right. I audit your website, review your existing content, set up your SEO baseline, build your email templates, clean up your directories, and get your Google Business Profile properly optimised. This is the groundwork that makes everything else work.

From month three onwards, we move into a steady monthly rhythm. Two blog posts. Two emails. Regular social and GBP updates. Seasonal promotions when needed. A monthly report that gives you a clear, plain-English picture of how things are going.

You’ll hear from me when something important happens — a ranking jump, a new review trend, a seasonal opportunity — and you’ll get your monthly report on schedule. Outside of that, you don’t need to think about your marketing. That’s the point.

Why I cap at 12 clients

I take on a maximum of 12 clients at a time — one per state. Not because it sounds good in a pitch, but because it’s the only way I can guarantee the quality of my work.

Every client gets my full attention. Every deliverable is written and reviewed by me personally. And because I only take one client per state, you’re never competing against another business I work with.

If you’re in a state that’s already spoken for, I’ll tell you upfront. I’d rather be straight with you and put you on a waitlist than overpromise and underdeliver.

If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for

Let’s have a conversation. I’ll ask you a few questions about your business, tell you whether I think we’re a good fit, and give you a straight answer on whether your state is available. No pitch deck. No hard sell. If it makes sense for both of us, we’ll go from there.
